Data Steward – Customer Master

JOB SUMMARY

The data steward will manage standard business definitions and metadata for critical data elements. Responsibilities will include overseeing the enterprise data quality standard, including the data rules associated with the data sets. Additionally, the data steward will be a conduit for communicating issues associated with the data life cycle—the creation, modification, sharing, reuse, retention, and backup of data.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

Master Data Governance (MDG) Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Integration build and testing with S/4 MDG and boundary systems

• Collaborate with Boundary system teams and OTC on conversion activities.

o Conversion activities include the following:

? Driving Data rationalization (Extraction criteria) discussions,

? Identifying list of Customer master attributes to be converted to S/4 and their mapping

? Customer master hierarchy mapping (Business Partner and Contract Accounts)

• Profiling rules, Data cleansing efforts (Leading Data cleansing team), Maintaining Data cleansing tracker

• Performing actual data Cleansing/clean-up in the source systems. 

o Should have technical skills to write mass update programs, queries to update the data in source systems.

• Data validation during Mock and final cutover cycles etc.

• Performing Customer master developments Functional Unit Testing and sign off.

o Coordinating with other process teams such as Order-to-cash (OTC).

• Provide visibility to executive leadership team on the progress. Identifying the risks and laying out the mitigation plans. Supporting Master Data Governance Team on the Customer master governance process, integration of MDG S/4 with boundary systems

• Coordinating SAP S/4 MDG and boundary integration for Customer master data creation/management in SAP S/4. 

• Coordinating with downstream Customer master system teams to map SAP S/4 MDG system Customer attributes with downstream system attributes.
