Senior Travel and Expense Analyst

Join our team! The Sr. Travel and Expense Analyst , monitor travel expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities, ensure compliance with travel policies and procedures, collaborate with various departments to improve travel and expenses operations and develop and maintain travel databases and dashboards.

About the Role   

In this opportunity as a Senior Travel and Expense Analyst you will: 

  • Expense report review: Reviewing and approving employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies  
  • Reimbursement management: Overseeing the reimbursement process to ensure timely and accurate payments  
  • Policy compliance: Ensuring compliance with global travel and expense policies and guidelines  
  • Employee communication and training: Keeping employees informed of initiatives and changes that impact travelers.  
  • Customer inquiries: Handling customer inquiries related to travel and expense reimbursements  
  • Corporate card management: Processing corporate card applications and making payments to vendors .
  • Reconciliations: Preparing monthly reconciliations of corporate card statements.
  •  Collect and analyze travel data from various sources.
  •  Identify trends and provide actionable insights to optimize travel strategies.
  •  Prepare detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  •  Monitor travel expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  •  Ensure compliance with travel policies and procedures.
  •  Collaborate with various departments to improve travel operations.
  •  Develop and maintain travel databases and dashboards.
  •  Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends.
  •  Evaluate the performance of travel vendors and negotiate contracts.
  •  Assist in the development and implementation of travel policies.
  •  Provide support and training to employees on travel-related matters.
  •  Analyse the impact of travel on the company's budget and financial performance.
  •  Identify and mitigate risks associated with travel.
  •  Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to travel.
  •  Assist in the planning and execution of corporate travel programs.

KEY DELIVERABLES

  • Contribute to the global T&E vision and strategy for Thomson Reuters including processes, policies and systems for short-, mid- and long-term execution,
  • Communication and training plan to keep TR employees and management informed about the T&E performance and updates,
  • Support a flawless and frictionless customer experience performance for our T&E Program. Enhanced user experience with mobile and automated solutions and self-service tools,
  • Contribute to develop and keep longstanding relationships with our Corporate Card, Airlines and Hotel Chains suppliers,
  • Support high compliance rate against the T&E policy and SOX controls.

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
  •  Proven experience as a Travel and Expense Analyst or in a similar role.
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  •  Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, PowerBI).
  •  Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  •  Attention to detail and accuracy.
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  •  Strong organizational and time management skills.
  •  Knowledge of the travel industry and market trends.
  •  Experience with travel management systems and software.
  •  Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  •  Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  •  Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  •  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
