Experience Required in:
This is a server engineering role specializing in Microsoft Office 365 support. The engineer is also responsible for supporting various server-related technologies, including patching and server administration. This position includes maintaining a small on-premise Exchange environment used for system mail routing (not user mailboxes). Additionally, the role involves handling compliance and eDiscovery tasks, collaboration with the security team on email security, as well as supporting and training users on AI-related Microsoft products such as CoPilot. This role supports email integretions with 3rd party solutions. This role does not support MS Teams or Voice.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless operation of Office 365 applications like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Viva Engage, and OneDrive.
- Deployment and Configuration: Plan, execute, and manage Office 365 deployments and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- System Monitoring: Continuously monitor the health and performance of Office 365 services, identifying and resolving potential issues proactively.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align Office 365 solutions with business needs and enhance overall organizational efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference and training purposes.
- Training and Support: Conduct training sessions for users to maximize their productivity with Office 365 tools.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Office 365 suite, PowerShell scripting, Azure AD, Viva engage, Intune, Co Pilot, SharePoint Online, and Exchange Online. On Premise exchange skills. Skills with management of Microsoft servers and clients. Skills with administration and support of Ai products like Microsoft Co Pilot. Manages email security solutions that support DMARC/DKIM.
Server adminstration of both Windows and Linux.
Knowledge in automation solutions similar to Ancible .
Knowledge in asset management solutions similar to Lansweeper.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of IT security best practices and compliance requirements .
Interpersonal Skills:
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Communication: Clear communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
- Project Management: Ability to plan, execute, and oversee small projects or technology roll outs.
- Collaboration: Working effectively with telephony providers, third-party vendors, and other IT teams.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and meet deadlines.
Requirements
Participates in Oncall Rotation
Assists in after hours and weekend activities(Monthly patching downtime)
Eastern Time Zone Hours
Experience
2 years of experience in Office 365 administration and server engineering.
Certifications and Education Preferred
Bachelors or Associates in Computer Science
Microsoft or Linux certifications (MCSA, MCP, etc )
Traning or Certifications in areas like MS Office 365, Vmware , Intune, or others
