This position is a hybrid position to work from Mexico for US clients. You will be working as a consultant directly with US Clients. Monday and Fridays are remote from home; Tuesday, Wednesday, & and Thursday are on-site at client location in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Title: Senior Unix Systems Administrator – Scripting Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Unix Systems Administrator with a strong focus on scripting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Unix systems and automating processes using PowerBash, Shell, and other scripting languages.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration:
- Manage and maintain Unix/Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
- Monitor system performance and optimize resource usage.
- Ensure system reliability, availability, and security.
Scripting & Automation:
- Develop and maintain scripts (using Bash, Shell, Python etc.) to automate routine tasks and processes.
- Implement configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) for automated deployment.
Troubleshooting & Support:
- Diagnose and resolve system issues, providing timely support to users and other IT staff.
- Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Prepare reports on system performance, uptime, and incidents.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with development and operations teams to support applications and services.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Unix/Linux Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems (e.g., Solaris, Red Hat).
- Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, Shell, Python,) for automation tasks.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., newrelic and catchpoint) and performance tuning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with Monitoring tools like New Relic or Catchpoint
