Job Description – ServiceNow HRSD Developer Role Information

  • Role:  ServiceNow HRSD Developer

  • Required Technical Skill Set:  ServiceNow, HRSD/ESC Modules, Java/Javascript

  • Experience Range:  5+ Years
Must-Have Technical Competencies
  • Strong experience in development and customization of ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (Employee Service Management) applications, including:

    • HR Case Management

    • HR Knowledge Management

    • Employee Service Center (Portal)

    • Enterprise Onboarding and Transitions (Lifecycle Events)

    • Employee Document Management

    • Performance Analytics for HR

  • Integration experience with HRSM/HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).

  • Experience integrating with directories such as Active Directory using LDAPs.

  • Expertise in integrations via Web Services, JDBC, SFTP.

  • Strong understanding of testing practices (unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, UAT, or client-specific testing).

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow solution development using JavaScript, Jelly, Web Services, XML, HTML, CSS.

  • Certifications:

    • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (mandatory).

    • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist in HRSD (mandatory).

  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.

  • Basic knowledge of ITIL standards and HRSD processes.

  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Behavioral Competencies
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively with project team members.

  • Active participation in planning meetings (pre-iteration, retrospectives, etc.).

Good-to-Have Competencies
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist in ITSM.

  • ITIL V3/V4 Foundation certification.

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).

Responsibilities / Role Expectations
  • Translate HR business requirements into technical requirements and solutions.

  • Configure and develop ServiceNow HRSD modules, including data imports and integrations with HR systems of record.

  • Collaborate with ServiceNow Platform Administrators and ITSM Developers.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to patching and release management for HRSD.

  • Design and develop UI forms, fields, notifications, automation scripts, integrations, workflows, and reports.

  • Create, monitor, modify, and publish service catalog workflows with approvals.

  • Work with HR teams to design and build the Employee Service Portal.

  • Develop and manage access control rules (ACLs) and validations in workflows.

  • Capture user stories and ensure adherence to best practices and development guidelines.

  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings and review requirement changes.

  • Ensure delivery of high-quality code with proper documentation.

  • Perform unit testing and support users during UAT.

  • Provide training to HRSD fulfillers and administrators on developed functionalities.
