Grow your career an  IT Project Manager with AMResorts, one of our 14 industry-leading brands. In this role you will be responsible, for planning, coordinating, monitoring and implementing for the IT side all upcoming hotel openings in America to meet organizational goals. Maintain the efficiency of important aspects of the project management process such as planning, scheduling, budget and risk assessment. Take project openings from original concept through final implementation. Work closely with business analysts (if assigned) on project scope and objectives validation. Develop detailed work plans, schedules, projects estimates, resources plan and status reports. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables. Manage the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and review vendor deliverables. Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the management of projects assigned. 


A successful  IT Project Manager  will:  


  • Work in the preparation and definition of the Hospitality upcoming hotel openings.  
  • Assess requirements of the project and recommend suitable IT components.  
  • Collaborate with formulation of procedures and policies for optimum utilization of IT resources in the organization.
  • Strong communication skills with cross functional project teams, team workers, functional test team, sponsors, management, partners, vendors and users.  
  • Excellent public relationship skills with Customers, Co-workers & External Partners   
  • Ability to monitor and drive issues, track tasks, and evaluate priorities daily.  
  • Maintain project documents: Software (SW) Project Plan, Schedule, Sharepoint, Teams, Smartsheet. (Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately). 
  • Work close to the PMO to follow projects framework, guidelines, standards, templates, best practices, etc.  
  • Publish weekly status reports/dashboards.  
  • Facilitate project status meetings and key stakeholder reviews.  
  • Preparation and management of a Project Plan to meet required milestones.  
  • Deliver the project within agreed upon timeline and budget.  
  • Lead meetings with external and internal teams including owners to facilitate project completion.  
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders as appropriate.  
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.  
  • Provide notification of milestone completions.  
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.  
  • Identify Risks in the projects, and design strategies to ovoid or mitigate it.  
  • Elevate all critical issues and risks with suggested courses of action.  
  • Propose new initiatives that could help lowering costs, incrementing staff satisfaction or working more efficiently.  
  • Any other responsibilities, activities or tasks identified by the IT Hospitality Leads or PMO in terms of growing and developing the organization.  
  • Must be a Problem Solver   

A successful IT Project Manager will have:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related
  • 5 years as PM related experience on IT Projects and Resorts openings
  • 5 years of experience in Hotel/Tourism/Travel vacations companies is a plus
  • Strong understanding of project management methodology and terminology 
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills 
  • Hotel Openings' experience in Mexico, Caribbean Islands and LATAM (its a must)
  • Fluent Spanish & English+ (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of Project Management Tools (like MS Project, Smartsheet)
  • Expertise using Microsoft Office Suite

  • Seek to gain knowledge from the PMO, BAs, PMs, and  Compliance Regulations
  • Ability to manage large scale efforts by delegating tasks and overseeing multiple projects. 
  • Acts as a champion for the team and the company.
  • Ability to align with customer support and product teams in order to troubleshoot customer issues. 
  • Ability to work multi-task and prioritize several project initiatives  
  • Excellent organizational, planning, facilitation, and prioritization skills
  • Positive and proactive attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, consultative, and communication skills
  • Ability to identify problems and recognizing important information with a clear understanding of the underlying links between the details.
  • Ability finding the causes of problems to quickly identify and filter relevant information to solve them
  • Willing to travel, to support knowledge transfer on global projects
