About the Role:

In the capacity of Software Engineering Manager – AI/ML (Recommender System), you will:

  • Lead the technical implementation of AI/ML solutions, ensuring alignment with business, product, and recommender system goals.

  • Oversee the development of machine learning solutions across one or more teams, managing configuration and integration.

  • Instill machine learning best practices, uphold technical standards, model design, and quality assurance, including conducting source code reviews.

  • Handle the technical deliverables, contribute to the technical design, and provide technical oversight.

  • Construct proof of concepts and offer guidance on implementation.

  • Develop, maintain, and document representative models to meet the needs of internal customers.

  • Address and resolve technical issues, providing remediation as needed.

  • Estimate solution development requirements, including technical planning, refinement, and dependencies.

  • Encourage a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere, share knowledge, and appreciate the value of varied perspectives.

  • Offer technical expertise, mentorship, and motivation to team members.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, innovation, and deployment.

  • Engage with cross-functional and product teams, business segments, internal and external technical experts, architects, and third parties on scope, requirements, solutions, data, and services.

  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to discuss their adoption trends, feedback, and opportunities for deeper engagement.

About You:

You are an outstanding candidate for the role of Software Engineering Manager – AI/ML (Recommender Systems) if you have:

  • Over 8 years of experience in solving real-world machine learning problems, enhancing user efficiency, reliability, and consistency with ML applications and Recommender Systems.

  • A background in people management responsibilities.

  • A deep understanding of data processing, ML systems, MLOps, and machine learning infrastructure components.

  • At least 3 years of experience with public cloud technology (AWS, GCP, Azure), with a preference for AWS, including services, DevOps/MLOps, networking, and security principles.

  • Direct experience in machine learning orchestration, creating complex multi-tenant ML products.

  • Proficiency in Python programming, SQL, and data modeling, with experience in DBT being beneficial.

  • Familiarity with Spark, Airflow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas, Keras, and other ML libraries.

  • A history of leading and supporting customer Engineering teams in adopting products for data and/or machine learning.
