About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Thomson Reuters, you will:

  • End-to-End Technical Solutions: Deliver end-to-end technical solutions for multiple products or complex projects with a focus on quality and adherence to designated release plans.
  • Project Leadership: Lead routine projects with manageable risks and resource requirements, demonstrating the ability to manage budgets for small projects or programs.
  • Problem-Solving Expertise: Solve complex problems with minimal guidance, providing subject matter expertise across sub-units and influencing compelling software solutions for customers and products.
  • Mentorship and Training: Engage with cross-functional teams, training and mentoring more junior colleagues, and collaborating effectively with designers and engineers.
  • Software Development: Design, develop, and test software systems and applications for enhancements and new products, ensuring code is written according to established specifications.
  • Operational Feasibility: Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Documentation and Communication: Document and demonstrate solutions through the development of documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code. Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Improve operations by conducting systems analysis, recommending changes in policies and procedures, and staying abreast of state-of-the-art development tools and programming techniques.

  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated mastery of a specific discipline across a range of related issues and the ability to apply new technologies in software solutions.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership in supporting and developing software engineers, providing advice, mentoring, training, coaching, and educational opportunities.
  • Team Collaboration: Great team player with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, collaborating effectively with other designers and engineers.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of other roles within the function or business unit, establishment and maintenance of ongoing customer relationships, and anticipation of customer needs to identify solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to explain difficult concepts, negotiate effectively with internal or external customers, and communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Delivery Excellence: Design and deliver software features with exceptional quality, meeting designated release plans and delivery commitments.
