Then consider joining the Thomson Reuters Legal Service Management group as a Senior Software Engineer within our cloud development team. In this role, you will collaborate with architects and developers to help build cloud infrastructure by provide tooling, software, and guidance to development teams as we build applications in the cloud.

  About the Role

  In this opportunity as a  Senior Software Engineer , you will:  

  • Develop and Deliver:  applying modern development practices, you will build and maintain tooling, software, and practices that support our CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based applications
  • Be a Team Player:  Working in a collaborative team-oriented environment, you will share information, value diverse ideas, partner with cross-functional and remote teams; ability get work done by engaging others to provide or request assistance
  • Be an Agile Person:   with a strong sense of urgency and a desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, you will deliver solutions against strict timelines

  • Be an Effective Communicator:  through active engagement and communication with partners and team members, you will effectively articulate ideas and collaborate on technical developments​

About You

You’re a fit for the role of  Senior Software Engineer  if you have:

Basic qualifications:  

  • Experience with AWS cloud platform
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using AWS CloudFormation
  • 4+ years’ experience with software development using one or more programming languages, preferably Java or Python
  • Experience working as a DevOps engineer in a cloud environment (preferably AWS)
  • 1+ year experience with build and deploy tools such as AWS Code Build and AWS Code Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Gradle

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience   
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices
  • Certified AWS Developer or Solutions architect
  • Experience working with database technologies, especially cloud solutions such as AWS Aurora/MySQL or AWS DynamoDB
  • Good understanding of DevOps practices as well as embracing a CI/CD mindset
  • Proficiency in system monitoring, especially using DataDog
  • An understanding of security for cloud-based applications
  • C omfortable with Linux operating system and shell scripting
