SAP SD for a world leading pharmaceutical company which operates in over 100 countries and is head quartered in the United Kingdom. The candidate is expected to be a member of a team of functional consultants for a large SAP support and maintenance project, spanning several SAP landscapes across continents.

The candidate should possess broad functional knowledge in his/her domain and in-depth technical knowledge in the relevant SAP module. The candidate should have proven expertise in configuring and supporting SAP landscapes. 


Role and Responsibilities

  • As a Functional Consultant, will be responsible for resolving any SAP issues reported by the business users and delivering all enhancements as required by business users.
  • Responsible for completing all tasks assigned by team lead and project manager.
  • Responsible for reviewing solutions designed by the team members and proposing improvements.
  • Responsible for proactively working with business users for identifying and resolving recurring issues.
  • Responsible for understanding and design EDI requirements with customers and external Partners.
  • Owner of certain niche processes within broader domain area e.g. Electronic Invoicing, Nota fiscal, CFDI and EDI interfacing to 3rd party systems, etc.
  • Prepare functional designs, make-system configuration and perform relevant testing and deployment of the designed business solution.


Required Skills and experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience doing direct configurations to the system, not only support or administrative roles.
  • Minimum 1 full implementation of SD module.
  • In-depth functional understanding for their respective work stream and expert knowledge in configuration and maintenance of SAP systems.
  • Communicate closely with the ABAP development team to share technical specifications.
  • Experienced and knowledge of key integration points between SAP modules (FI and MM).
  • Good understanding of SAP IDOCS Processing.
  • Experience working with External warehouses and electronic communication.
  • Ability to understand business requirements from business users and prepare and review functional specifications.
  • Very good understanding of integration of SAP modules in End-to-end business processes
  • Ability to work in large and diverse teams.
  • Should be able to guide and mentor junior members of the team.
  • Strong sense of ownership and high level of accountability
  • Should be aware of release governance processes and have experience in working on any incident management tool.
  • Experience of various Estimation Techniques needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well versed in English and Spanish. Excellent spoken and written skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts – Team may work in holidays or have heavy workload by the End of The Month
  • Proactive approach to problem solving. 
  • Experience working in a globally distributed team.
  • Willingness to travel.


Nice to have

  • Good understanding of business processes in the life sciences / pharmaceutical domain.
  • Exposure to Run SAP (Solution Manager) methodologies. 
  • Good understanding of GXP and SOX requirements. Should have working experience in a validated environment.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and Application life cycle management. 
  • Portuguese is a plus.
