Role Details

• The QA Engineer will be a core member on the Mobile Native apps team and will be responsible for:
• Maintain a high quality standard product by creating comprehensive test suites for all Apple and
• Android platforms and providing accurate test estimates for our development team.
• Effectively communicate test results to our engineers and product managers through proper
• communication pipelines.
• Critically think about the level and complexity of testing required in each stage of the software
• development life cycle.
• Provide feedback on product design to give users the best possible customer experience.
• Develop more efficient ways to complete full regressions across several builds.
• Inspire confidence in the development teams and product stakeholders.
• Communicate testing best practices to the various QA teams.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

• Manage, create, edit and execute our various test suites across all Apple and Android platforms,
• for Mobile devices, tablets and TVs.
• Manage, create and execute test plans across all Apple and Android platforms, ranging from
• Apple iphones, tablets and smart TVs, Android/Amazon Phones/Tablets, Android OTT devices
• such as Amazon FireTV, Android TV and Facebook Portal.
• Execute the testing for the assigned scrum team to ensure quality standards and requirements
• are met.
• Validate and verify all tasks, stories and defects throughout our development cycles.
• Prioritize incoming issues and document steps to reproduce, as well as observed and expected
• system behavior.
• Actively participate in daily standups, sprint planning and sprint ceremonies with an emphasis on
• optimizing testing cycles/resources with product and development teams to deliver shippable
• features.
• Coordinate with the rest of the QA team to analyze and improve the QA process.
• Review requirements, specifications, and design documents to provide timely and meaningful
• feedback.
• Organize and triage defects logged by our external test team.
• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including analyzing requirements,
• developing test plans, test cases, and execution of test scripts.
• Work with support teams to triage and reproduce issues.
• Create and communicate weekly test reports to our Company Leads, Managers and
• stakeholders.
• Determine how to best test functional cases that rely on REST APIs and CMS entries.
• Additional duties and responsibilities, as needed.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree, or a Certificate in Quality
• Assurance training program.
• 3+ years of experience in reviewing product requirements, creating test plans and testing
• Software applications for Mobile and/or OTT.

 

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Apple and Android products and variants.
• Proficient in Jira or any other bug tracking tools.
• Experience in test case creation and management programs; preferably TestRail.
• Knowledge of device debugging tools such as Charles Proxy.
• Experience using tools like: New Relic, Figma, Zeplin.
• Experience in mobile and/or OTT testing.
• Experience with Android Studio, and Android Device Bridge (ADB).
• Ability to export system logs via LOGCAT.
• Experience in analyzing various types and causes of defects (API vs Client).
• Experience with Agile methodology and working in Scrum teams.
• Understanding of Software Development life cycle and Software Testing life cycle.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Able to work independently without much supervision.
• Great problem solving and analytical skills.
• Experience as a QA liaison to various scrum teams.
• Understanding of HTTP, Redux and REST API's.
• Capable of contributing to libraries and automation frameworks with some supervision.
• Knowledge of various streaming technologies and services.
• Professional experience designing and working with Appium-based test automation frameworks
• and developing automated test scripts using common design patterns such as Page Ob
