Job Description:

Take full ownership of a modern testing ecosystem as a QA Automation Engineer specializing in WordPress web platforms. In this high-impact role, you will embed deeply within our SDLC to take full ownership of an existing Cypress automation framework, evolving it into a lean, ultra-efficient machine.

This is not a traditional QA Analyst role. We are looking for a Senior SDET with strong WordPress knowledge, automation ownership experience, and the ability to influence software quality through automated testing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Own and maintain the existing Cypress automation framework.

Modernize and refactor the test suite, transitioning from Cypress to Playwright.

Build automated testing gates to ensure software quality throughout the SDLC.

Reduce manual QA efforts through strategic automation.

Version test plans, test cases, and execution reports.

Identify whether issues originate from custom plugins, core updates, or theme conflicts.

Collaborate with development teams to embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

Experience as SDET or QA Automation Engineer.

Deep familiarity with the WordPress testing lifecycle.

Understanding of WordPress core functionalities.

Ability to identify whether issues originate from custom plugins, core updates, or theme conflicts.

Experience with Cypress or Playwright.

Experience maintaining, streamlining, and refactoring existing test suites.

Strong understanding of software development principles and testing philosophies.

Experience building automated testing gates.

Experience reducing manual QA efforts through automation.

Experience versioning test plans, test cases, and execution reports.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience with Headless CMS architectures.

Experience with API integrations.

Experience using AI development tools (Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot).

Experience transitioning test suites from Cypress to Playwright.

Experience using Docker.

Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Additional Requirements:
Availability to overlap business hours with ET (US Time Zone).
