Principal Backend Solution Engineer - Remoto

The ACS Integrations Platform team is responsible for envisioning, architecting, and driving our partner’s long-term vision for success in Access Control Systems (ACS) management, and how our partner interfaces with large scale vendors, both as an engineering principle, and as a core product feature. This team rotates between solving for scaling issues, such as performance and optimization , to infrastructure-adjacent concerns such as rate limiting and connection reuse, to internal developer experience through an ever-evolving integration SDK.  

Responsibilities  

• Stand up new services that improve the safety, reliability, and accuracy of our access control systems  

• Examine, improve, and challenge the existing modalities of how we manage ACS today  

• Collaborate with team members to bounce ideas off each other and see delivery of value to customers from start to finish  

• Design MVPs with strong technical foundations, and iterate on them with product feedback  

Qualifications  

• SaaS experience  

• Experience with solutioning backend technologies  

• A technologist who understands all aspects of the development process. UI design, test, instrastructure , devops and development. And an desire to learn a wide variety of technologies.  

• Able to build and communicate realistic Functional designs that are secure and maintainable.  

• Able to communicate architecture  and design patterns that are scalable and long term solutions  

• 8 + years of software engineering experience or coding experience  

• BS / MS in Computer Science or a related technical field  

• Created and supported APIs (REST, JSON/HTTP, GraphQL )  

• 5+ years Typescript in writing, maintaining , and debugging code in a production environment. (Kotlin development experience is a plus if they are interested to learn)  

• Experience designing and understanding large scale systems (>1M people)  

• Strong technical foundations for patterns and anti-patterns in software engineering  

• Server-side development (not web based)  

• Atlassian products – Jira and Confluence  

• An inner product champion who takes pride in knowing and planning what great can look like, not just good
