Commercial Engineering Manager

Join our team! Leads and manages a team of Business Systems Analysts and acts as a liaison between either a development group and an external client/vendor, or a development group and an internal business sponsor and/or other stakeholders.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Commercial Engineering Manager , you will: 

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day aspects of the team including planning/scheduling, reviews, hiring, process management, and task delivery.
  • Exhibits excellent leadership skills to improve group organization and delivery process. Responsible for the shaping and evolution of the Business Systems Analyst team, with a large focus on organizational management.
  • Be responsible for communication and expectation management, both across internal development groups as well as to business stakeholders
  • Drives the development and improvement of business processes within the technology and business organizations and understands client requirements, specifying and analyzing these to a sufficient level of detail to ensure clarity of definition.
  • Ensures and reviews data collection, analysis, and documentation of a client's business needs and requirements.
  • Ensures and reviews formal specifications and communicates business requirements between development and client to design and implement business solutions fully understanding design specification and documentation standards.
  • Serves as liaison between development across SBUs for process and business improvement and process and system integration.
  • Participates in short-term planning sessions with a client or other stakeholders to improve a business process within an assigned client area of responsibility.
  • Manages a structured requirements process to assess near-term needs.
  • Identifies business priorities and advises clients on options.
  • Establishes and monitors metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Defines performance requirements and helps formulate Key Performance Indicators for a project.
  • Comprehensive understanding of requirements, recommends best practices and ensures these practices are used.
  • Accountable for effective change management within projects, in terms of ensuring that changes to business requirements are effectively managed to ensure minimal impact on projects.
  • Develops relationships with a client by being proactive, displaying a thorough understanding of their business, and providing innovative business solutions.
  • Develops expertise and understanding of multiple Thomson Reuters technologies, products, and services.

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Advanced English is a must.
  • Applies understanding of current industry trends to analyze and review diverse issues.
  • Demonstrates people leadership skills.
  • Soft Skills such as Change Management. Coaching. Influencing (Inactive). Leadership.
  • Technology Development.
