About the role: 

As an IT Application Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of various software applications within our organization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems, optimizing application performance, and providing technical support to end-users. This position requires a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.


About you: 

Application Installation and Configuration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications across different platforms.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, (HTTP, HTTPS) protocols with applications landed on web servers (e.g., IIS).
  • Customize applications to meet specific business requirements and ensure compatibility with existing systems.

Application Maintenance and Upgrades:

  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain and apply software updates and enhancements, following change management procedures.

User Support and Training:

  • Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting application-related problems and providing guidance on best practices.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to educate users on application usage and functionality.
  • Security and Compliance:

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of application configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Generate reports on application performance, usage statistics, and support activities for management review.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with IT teams, software vendors, and other stakeholders to coordinate application-related activities and initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.
  • Collaborate with vendors (commercially available products) when escalating application issues.


You will be doing: 

Application Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor the performance of critical applications to ensure optimal functionality and responsiveness. Use monitoring tools to track metrics such as CPU usage, memory utilization, response times, and error rates.

Incident Management: Stay updated on any incidents or issues related to applications, including service interruptions, performance degradation, or user-reported problems. Respond promptly to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.

Security Awareness: Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices related to application security. Regularly review security configurations, apply patches and updates, and implement security measures to protect applications from cyber threats.

Change Management: Stay abreast of any changes or updates to applications, including software upgrades, patches, or configuration changes. Follow change management processes to plan, test, and implement changes in a controlled manner to minimize disruption to users.
