The Emissions Data Analyst is a key player in gathering historical emission data to help determine the capability of our future systems. This role focuses on gathering and analyzing historical emissions data to inform critical decisions that will shape future designs. You will lead projects that define and validate new test procedures and internal requirements, ensuring alignment with regulatory and performance standards. This position places you at the forefront of Powertrain development, playing a pivotal role in helping the company ensure compliance with environmental regulations, reduce its carbon footprint, and design/optimize future emission systems.
What you’ll do:
- Lead team effort to develop data tools for efficient analysis of product emissions performance, connecting the life cycle from DVR through 5-YIS IUVP.
- Identify programs that are near the limits of our targets and may require further deep dive analysis with TS team. Conversely, identify programs that have significant margin and may be eligible for TVM actions.
- Assist in the evaluation of appropriate emissions objectives.
- Research previous Model Year emission results (DVR’s/Certification) and conduct various studies on the data to help find solutions to the problem statement at hand.
- Gather In-Use Emission Test results and conduct statistical analysis on the data.
What you’ll need
- English proficiency (written and verbal).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field of study or 2+ years of experience in data science and/or machine learning.
- +4 years of experience with C++, Python, MATLAB, and SQL.
- +4 years of experience with data visualization analytics (Tableau, Qlik Sense, Power BI, or others).
- +2 years of experience in cloud computing (GCP, Azure, AWS, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Even better if you have:
- Experience or familiarity in Powertrain.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience generating reports and dashboards summarizing emissions data, trends, and compliance status for internal teams.
- Ability to learn new technologies, languages, frameworks, platforms, etc.
