WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Our positions in Monterrey are hybrid roles enabling our team to work 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely . Our office space in Monterrey was designed to promote collaboration for our scrum teams and increase our development velocity. In addition, you'll enjoy a great view of the city, fresh coffee, and the occasional happy hour.

POSITION SUMMARY :

As part of the Nymbus Development Services organization, the DevOps Release Manager interfaces and communicates with QA, Developers, DevOps, IT Ops and the PMOs on a daily basis. A Nymbus Release Manager must be confident enough to manage and provide reporting as well as meeting updates to leadership and our customers.


You will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes for code through development, testing, and production environments. The release management responsibilities also include maintaining the release calendar with the customer’s product teams and working closely with the Developers and Engineers from different squads. 


The DevOps Release Manager will assist in managing the project and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence and ensure the integrity of the release can be measured.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan the release windows and cycles across releases and client releases.

  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time.

  • Coordinate release content, checklists, and plans.

  • Aggregate all key plans, commitments, changes, requirements, QA plans, schedules, and scope changes.

  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.

  • Produce Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans.

  • Weekly Release Reporting.

  • Communicate release details and schedules to the Product teams as required.

  • Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities.

  • Work with Development Managers and IT Ops Engineers  to understand impacts of branches and code merges.

  • Lead and coordinate the production releases, including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists. 

  • Availability to work 2 nights per month for production deployments. 

  • Define requirements for scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms.

  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information, such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.

  • Researches new software development and configuration management patterns, process improvements and tools, and analyzes their application to current configuration management needs.


QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Degree in a technical or quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Sciences, Engineering).

  • 2-6 years of previous release and/or project management experience. Solid understanding of project management principles preferred.

  • Formal training in project management practices preferred.

  • Used to operate in high-frequency release and agile software development lifecycles.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.

  • 2+ years experience of integrating an online banking (or channel) application with core systems.

  • Experience managing technical software products from kick-off to ship.

  • Understanding and experience with Containerization Technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). OpenShift is a bonus.

  • Experience utilizing CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.


SALARY AND BENEFITS :

  • 85,000 - 100,000 MXN

  • Hybrid scheme (3 days a week working in the office, 2 days remotely)
