SAP BI/BW Consultant – Job Profile  


Position Summary:  
The SAP BI/BW Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SAP Business Intelligence (BI) and Business Warehouse (BW) solutions. This role supports business reporting, analytics, and data management needs, ensuring high-quality data delivery and actionable insights for stakeholders. 


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Design, develop, and implement end-to-end SAP BI/BW solutions to meet business requirements 
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business objectives into technical solutions, and deliver impactful analytics outcomes. 
  • Integrate data from SAP and non-SAP sources, ensuring robust data quality, governance, and security. 
  • Develop data models, ETL processes, and InfoProviders in SAP BW 
  • Create and maintain queries, reports, and dashboards using SAP BI tools (BEx, Analysis for Office, etc.) 
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various source systems 
  • Optimize data flows, queries, and reporting performance 
  • Support SAP BW upgrades, migrations, and integration with SAP HANA 
  • Collaborate with business users, functional consultants, and technical teams 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve BI/BW issues and incidents 
  • Document technical solutions, processes, and user guides 
  • Provide training, enablement, and best practices to client teams and end users. 
  • Stay current on SAP’s analytics roadmap and emerging features in Datasphere, SAC, and Databricks. 
  • Recommend solution enhancements and support clients in adopting modern analytics tools and methodologies. 

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field 
  • Ability to travel 0-80%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve 
  • 7+ years of experience in SAP BI/BW development and support 
  • Strong understanding of SAP BW architecture, data modeling, and ETL processes 
  • Experience with SAP BI reporting tools (BEx, Analysis for Office, Web Intelligence) 
  • Familiarity with SAP HANA and BW on HANA (preferred) 
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Good communication and stakeholder management abilities 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • SAP BI/BW certification 
  • Experience with SAP BW/4HANA 
  • Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud or other advanced analytics platforms 
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA integration
