Join our team! This role line reports to the Head of Advisory. The Advisory team is the consulting arm of the Thomson Reuters Institute (TRI). This division includes research teams and the group which develops thought leadership for Thomson Reuters.  TRI provides well known data-led services such as Market Insights , Financial Insights and Stellar Performance . It is also responsible for the organization of significant events and conferences in the professional services sector. There are therefore substantial synergies to be exploited in the development of the Advisory business, which leverages the wealth of empirical information generated by the Thomson Reuters Institute’s teams to provide consulting services to the most prestigious global and regional professional service firms.

About the Role   

In this opportunity as a Business Analyst, you will:   

  • Support with gathering and analyzing data from the client; this may be financial data, qualitative data about client or firm management, or information regarding firm structures and processes.
  • Undertaking desk research in support of Advisory assignments
  • Undertake high-quality primary research, including:
    • Interview and survey design.
    • Conducting qualitative interviews in line with research best practice
  • Analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data from primary research or existing data products
  • Development of presentation materials
  • Supporting with the delivery of analysis and recommendations to senior client teams
  • Support at workshop sessions, for example by facilitating conversation with small groups.
  • Supporting the Advisory and Business Development teams with developing written proposals, including scope, project design and costing
  • Develop and manage project management materials to ensure projects adhere to scope
  • Attend routine internal and client-facing meetings as part of projects, taking responsibility for driving actions agreed upon by both parties.
  • Act as a main contact point for clients and internal teams from a project management perspective on smaller, less complex projects. Support lead Project Manager on larger engagements.
  • Organizing internal (Win Learn Change) and external feedback reviews after the project.
  • Supporting the round table events that the Advisory group organizes – helping prepare the content and involvement in virtual/in person events as facilitator
  • Supporting the development of marketing materials and collateral (such as articles and blog posts)
  • Liaison with sales and marketing on the use and channels for distribution of advisory materials
  • Use of social media including the development of personal LinkedIn network

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Fluent English is a must.
  • Research experience including desk research, interviewing skills and analysis.
  • Excellent client engagement and communication skills
  • Excellent team working and networking.
  • Excellent command of English and high-quality writing skills
  • Presentation skills – the development of PowerPoint decks and oral presentation skills
  • Social media and LinkedIn knowhow and use
  • Knowledge of the legal sector and the needs and challenges experienced by major law firms
  • Project management
  • Experience in the use of AI tools
  • Experience in analytical tools such as MaxQDA, Qualtrics, nVivo, PowerBI etc
  • Knowledge of budgeting, budget control and invoicing
  • Languages other than English (Especially German or Spanish)
  • Involvement in proposal writing.
  • Demonstrates an ability to analyze and evaluate data
  • Inspires confidence in clients.
  • Uses technology and tools to deliver excellence to clients. 
  • Uses project management tools such as MSProject to effectively manage involvement in projects – for oneself and for other team members.
  • Has high expectations of the business and the direction of travel.
  • Demonstrates an enthusiasm to progress one’s career and takes appropriate steps to do so. 
  • Fully understands what is expected to reach goals, both from team members and from clients.

IMPORTANT: The role is available for hybrid working with 3 days per week in our offices. The role requires regular travel to clients’ premises in various parts of the world.
