We are looking for a backend developer who will join our Software Engineering team.  The backend developer will work on a team to support both our microservices and internal custom applications.

 

What you’ll do in this role:

      Develop NodeJS backend services using RESTful API conventions. Monitor, test, and continuously optimize designs

      Deliver testable, maintainable, and high-quality code

      Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes, optimizing data flows, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability and stability.

      Engineering duties include technical design, implementation, testing, support and participation in peer code reviews.

      Collaborate and interact with multiple engineering and product teams for the end-to-end implementation of new tools and applications.

 

What you’ll need to be successful:

      Ability to speak, read and write in English

      A degree in Computer Science, or comparable field

      3+ years of experience in development of microservices, RESTful API, backend systems.

      Extensive experience in NodeJS and Typescript, ideally with web-based frameworks such as NestJS and Express

      Be experienced in relational SQL and NoSQL databases - MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firestore.

      Be comfortable with maintainable software processes including unit testing, software documentation, and code reviews

      Demonstrated ability to work closely with teammates in a highly collaborative environment and simultaneously be a self-starter with strong individual contributions

Bonus skills:

      Have expertise with Python 3, preferably in a web environment

      Familiarity with configuring CI/CD pipelines in GitLab

      Have an understanding of docker-based containerization and serverless systems
