Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Smalltalk Developer to lead the migration of our backend system from Dolphin Smalltalk to Pharo . This role requires expertise in legacy system maintenance , web application development , and database integration .

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and refactor existing Dolphin Smalltalk code for migration.
• Develop and optimize backend services in Pharo .
• Implement and maintain web applications using Seaside .
• Ensure seamless database integration with MariaDB and ReStore (ORM for Smalltalk).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize migration impact.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong Smalltalk expertise : Dolphin (current) & Pharo (target).
• Web development : Proficiency in Seaside framework.
• Database knowledge : Experience with MariaDB and ReStore ORM .
• System migration experience : Transitioning from Dolphin to Pharo on the backend.
• Profiency in English (C1+) and communication skills.
• Legacy code maintenance & optimization.
