Senior Product Owner – Payments / Fintech

100% Remote | Contractor | 6 months (extension up to 1 year)

?? About the role

We are looking for a  Senior Product Owner  with strong experience in  payments and fintech  to support the development and evolution of payment platforms and integrations. This role will work closely with  engineering teams across the US and LATAM , acting as the key bridge between business needs and technical execution.

This is a hands-on Product Owner role, ideal for someone comfortable owning the backlog, defining clear requirements, and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

?? Key Responsibilities

• Define, prioritize, and manage the  product backlog  aligned with business objectives
• Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into  clear user stories and acceptance criteria
• Collaborate closely with  engineering teams  to clarify requirements, dependencies, and technical trade-offs
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including  sprint planning, refinements, and stand-ups
• Ensure smooth communication between product, engineering, and business stakeholders
• Support  API-first and integration-focused  product initiatives
• Contribute to product decisions related to  payment flows, merchant onboarding, and integrations
• Ensure product requirements consider  regulatory and compliance standards  relevant to payments

?? Required Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of experience  as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role
• Strong background in  payments or fintech products
• Experience working with  APIs and system integrations
• Solid understanding of  Agile methodologies  (Scrum, Kanban)
• Proven experience collaborating directly with  engineering and integration teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Hands-on experience using  product management tools  such as Jira, Confluence, or similar
• Advanced English level  (written and spoken) – mandatory

? Nice to Have

• Experience with  global or cross-border payment flows
• Familiarity with  API design principles and RESTful architecture
• Exposure to  fraud prevention, risk management, or chargeback processes
• Background in  e-commerce, gaming, or entertainment platforms
