Activities

  • Develop, enhance, operate, and maintain an accurate Configuration Management Database.  

  • Provide technical services within the ServiceNow ITOM Suite.  

  • Build custom probes and patterns to enhance ServiceNow Discovery.  

  • Build integrations with monitoring solutions to facilitate event management processes.  

  • Manage a multi-source CMDB utilizing identification and reconciliation rules to increase the accuracy and reliability of the data.  

  • Drive opportunities for increased efficiencies on the ServiceNow platform considering automation in all aspects.  

  • Reviews service asset and configuration management plans and completes complex client requests. Writes and maintains documentation, including policies and procedures, configuration templates, guides, and release notes.   

  • Tracks change requests and evaluates requests for new configuration management requirements.  

  • Works with management to implement quality assurance improvement plans and initiatives, concentrating on methodology and configuration management.  

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.  

  Required knowledge  

  • Understanding web service connections and packet delivery protocols including HTTP, TCP, JDBC, ODBC, SNMP, SOAP, and REST  

  • Ability to write complex SQL statements and code in JavaScript and Python  

  • Understanding of concepts and characteristics of routing and switching (routers, switches, firewalls, NAT, load balancing)  

  • Ability to script, parse and interpret files/scripts using XML, JSON, RegEx , and delimiters.  

  • Ability to discuss credentials, credential access, troubleshoot permission issues, discuss and troubleshoot network connectivity with network engineers  

  • Knowledge of Web and Application Servers, Load Balancers, Databases, and Virtualization (WebSphere, MQ, IIS, Apache, VMware)  

  • Experience with working or developing with JavaScript and Python.  

  • Administration of a ServiceNow instance including the management of users, groups, and roles, ACLs, business rules, workflows, UI actions, UI policies, dictionary, and catalog items Orchestration and Discovery.
