As an SSD Systems Architect , you will play a critical role within the architecture and product planning team, defining storage systems tailored for our clients.


  • Innovate and define product concepts and SSD architectures .
  • Foster strong technical relationships with customers, partner system architects, and key technologists to conceptualize advanced memory products.
  • Collaborate with Micron technologists, design engineers, and teams to ensure successful implementation and feasibility of new product ideas.
  • Develop detailed specifications for new product architectures.
  • Assist in selecting concepts for feasibility demonstration.
  • Create new intellectual property and patent ideas.
  • Promote Micron’s new products, technologies, and capabilities at industry consortia, technical organizations, and conferences.
  • Identify critical technical trends and competitive landscapes, staying current with market advancements in technology and architecture.
  • Perform modeling and analysis of performance, power consumption, and workload impacts.
  • Develop system architecture specifications and provide architectural requirements to our go-to-market teams.


  • Minimum of eight years in design, product, test, support, system, or applications engineering.
  • Experience in SSD and/or HDD architecture , design, analysis, or troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and VMware operating systems .
  • Knowledge of device drivers and firmware-based storage devices.
  • Expertise in NAND flash, solid-state drives , and/or hard disk drives.
  • Proficiency with storage protocols such as SATA/ATA, SAS, and NVMe .
  • Understanding of NAND interfaces like ONFI and Toggle .
  • Experience with NAND management including error detection and correction.
  • Familiarity with storage systems such as RAID systems, blades, and workstations .
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and disciplined.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and with customers at various levels.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
